LCpl Sagar Samsher Kunwar (Queen's Gurkha Signals) won the gold medal at the Taekwondo ITF World Cup, which took place in Lethbridge, Canada, on 4-5 July 2026.

He delivered an outstanding performance and won the Gold Medal in Patterns (Senior Black Belt, Men 18-39). Today at 1828 hrs, tune into BFBS Gurkha Radio to hear his interview on Aayo Gurkhali.

Syangja secured the team championship title yet again at the **6th Gandaki Province ITF Taekwondo Championship** in Burtibang, Baglung. Having already won the 3rd, 4th, and 5th editions, they dominated this year's tournament with an impressive haul of *10 Gold, 7 Silver, and 6 Bronze** medals.

Best Female Player:Miss Manisha K.C.from Tanahun, who put on a stellar performance to win 2 Gold medals.
Best Male Player:Mr. Surya Adai from the host team, who earned the honor with 1 Gold and 1 Silver medal.

The exciting two-day tournament concluded successfully on June 20–21, 2026 at Dhorpatan-1, Burtibang, Baglung.
The winners were honored by Mr. Dhan Bahadur Kayat, acting mayor of dhorpatan Municipality and General Secretary of Nepal ITF mr Gham Bahadur Thapa who presented the awards and cheered on the athletes.
