Satellite images have confirmed the formation of a lake in China’s Lhende Khola area, around 18 kilometers upstream from Rasuwagadhi, after the river was blocked. The newly formed water body is estimated to cover about 0.11 square kilometers. The blockage has raised serious concerns because the lake is being held back by a natural dam, which could potentially weaken or break if the water level continues to rise.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have urged people in Rasuwagadhi, Timure and other downstream areas to remain highly alert. Residents have been advised to stay away from riverbanks, avoid unnecessary travel near waterways and move to safer locations if instructed. Rescue and emergency preparations are also being kept ready as officials assess the risk of a sudden release of water. People in potentially affected areas are urged to follow official updates and not take unnecessary risks.
