The official qualifying standards for the 2028 Olympic Games have been released by LA28 and World Aquatics.

An athlete who achieves the ‘A’ Standard in an individual event will earn direct qualification to compete in that event at the LA28 Olympic Games, provided they are entered by their NOC. The ‘B’ Standard, which is set at just 1% slower than the ‘A’ Standard, is used for additional individual event entries, to allocate remaining quota places, and to allow relay-only athletes to compete in individual races.

*50s of stroke: Swimmers who have already qualified for the Olympics in another event, or who are entered as relay-only swimmers, may enter a stroke 50 event at Los Angeles, provided they have met the minimum time standard and their nation does not exceed the two-per-country entry limit.
