HAAT Academy proudly announces the record-breaker achievement of one of its alumni, Ms. Karishma Kannan, who conquered the mighty mountains of Ladakh, peaking at the height of 17000 feet above sea level crossing the frozen Pangong lake (15,000 feet). This extraordinary achievement is a proof of her strong determination and the unwavering support of her parents, who have instilled in her the will and resolve to achieve such remarkable goals.
A graduate of the Downs Mountaineering Workshop-2023, Ms. Karishma has shattered social stereotypes and joined the elite 5% of the world's population who have crossed the 5000-meter mark. She has won the title of Downs Mountaineer for demonstrating her exceptional skills and resilience.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Karishma Kannan and look forward to seeing her lead the team in future treks, her proud parents Mr Hariharan Kannan and Ms Kalpana Kannan for taking the toughest decision ever. We also applaud the entire Down Syndrome Community in India and Nepal for their support and encouragement.
