Bhutanese karatekas settle for bronze in Nepal Bhutanese karatekas Tshering Phuntsho and Passang Tobgay secured bronze medals for the country at the Seventh South Asian Karate Championship held in Kathmandu, Nepal, between November 28 and December 3.

The Bhutan Karate Association congratulates our two Karate athletes from Royal Bhutan Army(RBA) and Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) who have brought home 2 bronze medals from the 7th South Asian Karate Championship, which was held in Kathmandu, Nepal from 28th November to 3rd December 2023 with Support from Bhutan Olympic Committee .
Chuma Tshering Phuntsho (RBA) secured bronze in the Kumite senior category -60kg after losing to Nepal in the semi-finals.Similar, Chuma Passang Tobgay (RBP) secured bronze in Senior Category Kumite +84kg after losing to Sri Lanka.
The championship was organized by South Asian Karate Federation and hosted by Nepal Karate Federation and the championship saw around 249 participants from 6th SAARC (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal , Pakistan and Sri Lanka).
