HAMRO EKIDEN 2026 β€” 21K RELAY

Coach Santosh Rai travelled all the way to Folkestone to take part in the Hamro Ekiden 2026 21K Relay, proudly representing Nepal Run Club and showing his support for the running community.

He joined none other than our fastest Nepali female runner in the UK Manda Gurung, and together they opened the event alongside several other runners. Our dedicated club member, Mr. Prakas Gurung, provided incredible support as part of the crew throughout the event.

Despite the challenging and unpredictable weather, they smashed the half marathon and added valuable mileage as part of their long-run training for next week’s The Big Half.

It was another fantastic event, brilliantly organised as always by our sister running community, Hamro Run Club.

Thank you so much for a wonderful event. We truly appreciate all the hard work and dedication that went into making it a success.

See you next year! πŸ™πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS, DAWA TAMANG! πŸ‡³πŸ‡΅πŸ”οΈ

A truly incredible achievement from Dawa Tamang, all the way from Rasuwa, Nepal β€” a place recently devastated by severe flooding.

Despite being mentally distracted and deeply concerned about the situation in his home village, Dawa showed incredible strength, focus and determination to smash the UTMB 100K in an amazing time of 16:51:49!

This achievement is even more special when you know the journey behind it. Dawa was one of the 777 Nepal Marathon Challenge 2026 finishers and has completed numerous other trail races. Through his strong performances in the UTMB Series, he earned his qualification for the UTMB World Championships 100K β€” a remarkable accomplishment in itself.

Huge shout out to all the incredible support crews Ruden Bhutia, Lotti, Tirtha and Arun from Runderbolts running community.

But Dawa is much more than an incredible athlete.
He is also a dedicated social worker who has always cared deeply about his community.

While celebrating this amazing achievement, his heart remains back home. Dawa is hoping to return to Rasuwa as soon as possible so he can support the flood victims and help the many families affected by this devastating situation.

Dawa, your resilience, strength and compassion are truly inspiring. We wish you a very safe journey home and hope you are able to support your community and the families who need help during this difficult time.

Huge congratulations once again, Dawa Tamang!
You have made Nepal, Rasuwa and your entire community proud.

Celebration Mode On β€” Sunday Vibes!

What a fantastic Sunday for our Nepal Run UK family!

We were delighted to welcome our club coach Santosh Rai back after his short family holiday after he smashed the Ironman Leeds. Members enjoyed their usual Sunday long run alongside Santosh and our special guest, ultra-marathon runner Mr. Dawa Tamang.

After the run, everyone gathered at the Nepal Run UK office to celebrate Coach Santosh’s fantastic achievement at Ironman Leeds and to wish Dawa Tamang the very best for his upcoming UTMB challenge next Friday.

A huge thank you to our core members Bishnu Dewan, Nilu Dewan, and Sushma Gurung for arranging delicious refreshments for everyone.

Special thanks to our young member and swimming coach Kanchan Nepal for vegan cake πŸŽ‚

And a very special moment was the Sagun ceremony, beautifully arranged by our energetic member Nilima Shrestha, to honour and celebrate Coach Santosh.

It was truly a joyful and memorable day for the whole club β€” full of running, friendship, celebration and positive energy!

Wishing Santosh Rai and Dawa Tamang great success in their next challenges! May you both continue to inspire us all.

Run together. Celebrate together. Inspire together.
