Chocolate mousse is a light, airy dessert made by combining melted chocolate with whipped cream (and sometimes eggs) to create a smooth, rich texture that feels almost like foam.

The word “mousse” comes from French, meaning foam and that’s exactly the texture you get. It’s lighter than pudding but richer than whipped cream.
