The view is spectacular but hard-earned. "My best day of running in 20 years of running," said Stefan, pictured. Out of view is an enormous glacier slowly grinding its was into the turquoise lake. The very memorable stage 5.

[stage7] This is why you trained as hard as you could , so that you could fly along this high altitude trail following 6 hard days of running. Is your training as good as it can be?

[stage3] Look closely. Ancient caves high on red cliffs that sheltered people thousands of years before. It's where the very few race DNFs go.

[stage6] Running wonderland, over ancient mudflows that followed gravity's pull in no particular direction forming a trail like a rollercoaster of smooth ups and downs.
