With the slogan 'Investment in children is the beginning of a secure future', the Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 14 Ward-level Child Rights Committee has completed self-defense training to boost confidence in children.
Self-defense training was provided to children aged 11 to 18 in the training held in Nakhipot, Lalitpur on Sunday.

Lalitpur, May 10: With the slogan 'Investment in children is the beginning of a secure future', the Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 14 Ward-level Child Rights Committee has completed self-defense training to boost confidence in children.

Self-defense training was provided to children aged 11 to 18 in the training held in Nakhipot, Lalitpur on Sunday.

The training, organized at the Nakhipot Sports Ground, was conducted from 10 am to 4 pm.

In the program, children were provided practical training on self-defense, discipline, confidence building and skills to stay safe in disaster or risky situations, informed Deepak Lama, branch chief of the International Karate Organization Kyokushinkai Nepal. At the program, Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 14 Chairman Amritjung Mahat stated that children are the pride of the nation and said that such programs are necessary for their all-round development.

He informed that the local level has been continuously conducting child-centered programs to build a child-friendly society.

Similarly, Sangita Achhami, coordinator of the Ward No. 14-level Child Rights Committee, said that the training was organized with the aim of increasing awareness about the safety and self-defense of children.

The training was facilitated by Deepak Lama, branch chief of the International Karate Organization Kyokushinkai Nepal, K. I. F. Kurodaya Self-Defense Martial Arts branch chief and trainer Surendra Singh Bista, trainer Yojana Regmi, and I. K. O. Kyokushinkai Karate Dojo Nakhipot chief trainer Sameer Shrestha. Along with practical exercises on self-defense, the children participating in the program received important information on physical and mental empowerment. According to trainer Sameer Shrestha, action plans are being made to conduct various programs related to the development of children's abilities and safety in the coming days as well.
