What a day at the Sandspit Centreboard Autumn Regatta

A fantastic regatta today with great racing across the fleet. The wind delivered exactly what we needed, creating some competitive and exciting sailing out on the water.

Congratulations to all of our prize winners – well deserved results after a strong day of racing.

It was also great to see sailors travelling in from across the region, adding to both the competition and the atmosphere.

A big thank you to all the club members and volunteers who helped run the event. From race management through to setup and support on the day, these events only happen because of the effort behind the scenes.

Appreciate everyone who came down and supported it.

Christmas Regatta Magic!

What an absolutely stunning day on Kawau Bay for the 2025 SYC Centerboard Division Christmas Regatta!

The sun was shining, the wind was steady, and the bay came alive with colourful sails and smiling faces.

From the fearless solo sailors in the Optis to the dynamic duos carving it up in the 420s - every moment captured the spirit of summer sailing at its best.

A massive thank you to all our sailors, supporters, volunteers, race committee, and families who helped make this day so special.

We’re especially grateful to our sponsors who continue to back community sailing and make events like this possible. Your support truly keeps the wind in our sails!

It’s time to dust off the sails, polish the hulls, and get your entries in.

SYC Centerboard Division Open Day – This Sunday at Algies Bay - All welcome!

Join us at the clubrooms Sunday morning, from 9 am to 12 noon for a morning of sailing fun, a sausage sizzle, and a chance to meet the team.

Kids can learn how to rig their boats, and parents can get signed off on tractor and RIB driving if keen.

Our Learn to Sail programme, runs "after school hours" (4:30-7:30) weeknights Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday starting on 13th October - and we still have a few spaces left for any keen kids - contact the [email protected] to sign up. Link below to find out more.
