The Snow Sports Club is about snowboarding, skiing and having fun in the mountains with other uni students. We run events throughout the year in town and at Temple Basin, our club field in Arthur’s pass where we OWN a lodge! We also arrange carpooling to the mountains every weekend, but our main events are the big party weekends up at Temple. At only $135 for a full weekend including 2 days lift p

The Annual Canterbury Snow Sale is brought to you by Canterbury University Snow Sports Club for 2026. Running for the 13th time, following the hugely successful sales in previous years. The Snow Sale will be held from 9am to 3.30pm on the 3rd of May (Sunday). Public gear drop off is 10am to 3pm 2nd of May (Saturday).
The Snow Sale allows anyone to bring in and sell their second hand snow gear alongside buying gear from local retail outlets. There will also be stall vendors present from the Canterbury snow sports community, including the clubbies selling discounted day passes and merch, retailers of hard and soft goods, and much more. We will have thousands of items of brand new and used gear for sale, so come along and take a look!
The Snow Sale has something for everyone. The gear ranges from beginner equipment to back country touring set ups, if you’re after a piece of new kit, the Snow Sale is the place for you. We also have a huge range of children’s gear, making it a great day out to get the whole family set up for the ski season!

We’re beyond excited to announce the addition of a brand new chairlift, made possible by an incredibly generous donation from an anonymous former member of our community.
The new lift features state of the art European design; featuring advanced up-hill&down-hill compatibility. This means our valued keas can finally return to the top of our mountain.
Too drunk to walk up temple track? No problem!

instead of booking Ubers.
For the people who know to handle their poles,
And when it comes to swapping clothes?
That’s their ultimate goal.
Wear after Wear,
Beer after Beer,
Sophisticated style shall not disappear.
These cubes know how to dress on a budget,
But what they know best is the dance floor - they love it.

The cube we worship,

What a term it’s been, here is the long awaited Initiation and Fresher BYO recap! Better late than never aye (mum says good things take time)
Initiation:
- Many goons demolished, some would say we needed more👀
- 1 feature on the Springfield community Facebook group (they love us😍)
- Very refreshing swims in lake Lyndon and lake Pearson🏊♂️
- Successful Waimak crossing, I’m sure the truck drivers loved it😏
- The Freshers wined and dined on some delectable chickpea curry
- Some wounding chat took place in ski patrol
- As always, the d-floor was raging, shapes were cut and we boogied the night away🕺💃
- That’s all I remember, sorry guys😉
Fresher BYO:
- Sophistication and class filled the room as we rocked up to Hello Vietnam with the most 10 dollarist bottles of wine we could find (shout out jacobs creek)🍷
- We feasted on some of the finest Vietnamese cuisine and participated in some dusty yarns
- The night continued at afters🥳 (rip the ue boom)
An absolutely mean start to the year, the stoke is high. Fear not, we have more events coming your way soon😘
