What an unforgettable weekend at the Filipino South Island Games 2026, proudly hosted right here in Ashburton on May 30–31!

We are incredibly proud to announce that the Ashburton Warriors Men’s Team and Mixed Team have both claimed CHAMPIONSHIP titles in their respective divisions, while Ashburton Team B Mixed fought hard and earned a well-deserved SILVER MEDAL. 🥇🏆🥇🥈

But this victory is about so much more than medals and trophies.

This is a win for Ashburton. This is a win for the Filipino community. This is a celebration of what can be achieved when people come together with a shared vision, passion, and commitment to their community.

Behind every game played and every trophy lifted were countless hours of hard work from our dedicated FDWNZ officers, volunteers, committee members, coaches, officials, sports leaders and supporters. Your tireless efforts before, during, and after the event made this tournament possible. We see your sacrifices, your late nights, and your unwavering dedication—and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
