The winners of our next Team of the Week prize, are... the United KFC Twisters!🥳

The United KFC Netball Club - Ashburton Twisters are a team from our social competition, who started the season in social 2, but were relegated to social 3 in round 2. From there they've thrived to the point where they've made the social 3 final 🥳 But, the reason they've been named our team of the week for this week, is because it's been noted that they're doing an amazing job of warming up! As we all know, injuries are a part of sport, and something we see a bit of in social netball in particular 🫤 So in recent years we've put a real focus on the NetballSmart warm up in our social space. It's awesome to see teams like this one really utilising this key netball tool, and warming their bodies up properly to help reduce the risk of injury on court! 🫶 Well done to the Twisters - you can collect your prize from the netball desk next week! 👏

📣 Update!

New Saturday draws are now live. Most teams will now be playing at a different time than the original draw, as we're down a court for the foreseeable due to the broken basketball hoop putting court 1 out of action, and have had to start earlier and finish later. We know not everyone is going to be happy about this, however this is beyond our control and we've simply had to make it work 🫶

A big congrats to Bethany Lowe Jane Lowe for obtaining her Green Award for umpiring this year - may this be the start to her umpiring career. Congratulations Bethany

🫶 Chicago Joes Coach of the Month

It's time for our second Coach of the Month announcement for season '26, thanks to Emma and the team at Chicago Joes! This is picked from nominations made through the volunteer shout outs box each week. And the winner for June is... Charlotte Chilton! 👏

Charlotte is a coach from our Midlands Y3-4s! One of the things that makes her so special is the fact that she coaches not one, but two teams in this space! She coaches 2 Ashburton Christian School teams and her nominator said she has been an awesome coach. The nominator said Charlotte is extremely caring, particularly after those hard games that maybe don't go their way. The kids just love her and the parents are super appreciative that she's giving up her time to coach these teams! So well done, and thank you Charlotte!
