These guys have no idea about rain!

This article was in a famous British Bowling Magazine and it makes sense. Clubs are recruiting new members who are part of working families, and their weekends are busy with kids sport etc. We therefore need to adapt our old Clubs for retirees ideas and shorten our games and suit the needs and wants of all members.
Unfortunately change is essential to survive and adapt to these modern times.

A message to all new North Harbour region Bowling Club members, when your new to bowls, it’s comfortable to remain at your club, but if you step out of your comfort zone with a couple of club mates, there’s a whole new world of inter club competition awaiting you?
Bowling on other club greens increases your skill level.
Intreracting with other club members is stimulating.
So come along to Waimauku Bowls Club this coming Thursday 30th March for our monthly Any Combination Triples Tournament.
Lunch provided and great prizes, and a chance to meet new people while you bowl on what is arguably the best green in the North Harbour Region.

What a great day out for the local community.
Great bands, food, prizes and loads of fun for Muriwai families who needed a respite from the last few months.
Hard work for our events committee and clubmembers, but we all agree we would do it again in a heartbeat.
Just to see the enjoyment of adults and children’s faces rolling bowls for prizes, interacting with one another and chilling in the bright sunshine.
And seeing our new shade sail shaded outdoor seating area getting good usage.
You all deserve a pat on the back for your great efforts and hard work.
We all made a difference.
