The game doesn't wait for you to catch up.
Transition moments happen dozens of times every game — the ball changes hands, momentum shifts, the play resets. The athletes who win them aren't faster. They're reading earlier.
The read is mental. The response is physical. The edge is emotional. Train all three.
Save this. Share it with the coach who trains this with you and holds you to it.🧡

The sweaty post-game hug is a joy for me. It goes deep.
I've seen what it actually took to get here — leaving home, moving countries, stepping away from the people they love most, to chase a professional career.
It is never just about talent. It takes real commitment. The edge comes from doing the work, building the resilience to leave everything familiar behind — and making the best of the setbacks and opportunities when they come.
I see the 16 year old boy who walked into my gym and the man he has become on and off the field. That's what I see when I get that hug.
Real talk. Genuine care.

I never get tired of watching these guys play. Now in their apprenticeship phase, they are are tackling the step up like pros.
They know what they are chasing and they know why!

Coaching for chaos in boxing 💥👊🏽
Most trainers teach moves.
Great trainers teach a fighter how to stay organized when the fight gets loud.
Because chaos is what changes everything.
The crowd gets louder.
The punches speed up.
The breathing shortens.
The eyes start chasing.
The mind starts rushing.
And once the nervous system gets messy, technique starts leaking.
That’s the blind spot.
A trainer’s real job is not just teaching offense, defense, and footwork.
It’s helping the fighter quiet the noise so those skills still show up when pressure spikes.
Anybody can look sharp when the pace is friendly.
But when the ring turns chaotic, the fighter who can stay calm, think clearly, and remain organized is the one who keeps access to his weapons.
Technique matters.
But composure under fire is what keeps technique alive.
That’s coaching.
That’s training.
That’s the difference between looking good in the gym and performing when it counts.
If you want to know how to keep your fighter calm and temperament even before the fight even starts, type EVEN
& use what has helped 1000’s overcome panic.

RPM is "my thing" - so helping out my friend practice for her certification - "sure I said" 😆.
Lot more to it than you realise just sitting in the class. I usually train in the mornings, so afternoons was a definitely change up 😅🤣.

This came up in my personal feed this week. With so much negative press in boxing in NZ lately this period of my life has been taking up a lot of space in my mind.
Out of adversity and struggle we grow. This was true of alll three of us in this 📸. But there were also the proud times (like this Trans-Tasman event for me), hugely supportive moments and enduring relationships established .
It inspired my desire to research and make a difference in emerging athlete programmes. We keep fighting 💪🏽 🙏.

Some moments hit extra special like this one. That step from pathway to apprenticeship- that first senior performance. 🧡✨️

The thing about being in elite sport is: someone is always watching, critiquing you.
Athletes and coaches - What is feeding your hunger, pushing you through - its called meaning - not mental toughness meaning!
What is your meaning for your pursuit? Love to hear - let me know your why in the comments. Mine is meaningful connection and service. Dr Px

Proud of this one not going to lie. Tells two sides of a special story - the athletes and those that support them.
