Originating from the original home of hoops in Aotearoa, Youthtown: 68a Nelson Street, Run & Shoot started as a way to have semi-organised, competitive, full court pick up runs. It also served as a place for community to connect, share, learn & teach.

Many elite athletes can’t find a gym to workout. Many athletes just missed on a school or representative team & need a place to simply get up & down. This is the run for you! Bring a crew, or pull up solo & find a team on the day.

Starts week 2 of the upcoming school holidays, Saturday April 18

Age Break Down:
School Years: 8,9,10 (10.00-11.30am)

11.30am-12.00pm - Open gym

School Years: 11, 12, 13 (12.00-2.00pm)

Open Men / Women’s: (2.00-4.00pm)

House Rules:
Overarching kaupapa is fun, competitive, balanced runs.
1 referee per court; Zero kōrero will be tolerated from officials.

4 team fouls = Bonus / 2 x FT’s

Games = first to 21 (Regular scoring) or whoever is leading after 6 minutes

Winner stays on
If you win 3 in a row you must sit 1 game & then may play winner of the game you sit out

If numbers allow King of the court rules will apply = Court A winner stays, court B winner advances to play court A. 2 new teams enter on court B

Draw after 6 minutes = 1st team to hit a 3 wins 📝✂️🪨 for who shoots 1st

🟢18 years or older by 5 July 2026
🟢Available for the full tour: 5–9 July 2026
🟢Commitment to all tour expectations
🟢Have an association with promoting and supporting Poitūkohu Māori
