A top effort by Seth who has successfully achieved his yellow belt. Great to see that type of form and footwork at such an early stage of his journey! Seth will have a crack at anything on the mat and we look forward to his future progress.

Happy New Year! We're back to training tomorrow night at 7pm, looking forward to seeing you all there.

And so ends another year at NWSD! A year of considerable achievement for a lot of our students. We can look forward to a well deserved break and a recharge for the year ahead.

Yesterday we hosted the NZJJF National Seminar. We had a great turnout with five sessions (with an additional fire alarm evacuation...) I would like to acknowledge Danzo Brough for his contribution to the day, he did double Uke duties and was also happy to jump in with Darrin for a but if rough and tumble at the end of my session. Also, our newest and youngest members for getting stuck in with no complaints throughout the entire day. Noah and Jerry are picking up the art very will and always willing to help and it was only Seth's third time on the mat (I thought we was probably just going to watch but no, straight in to it!) Also, a massive thanks to Sue & Julie for their contributions with lunch and photography. A special thanks goes out to Terry Evans the club wouldn't be what it is without him!

Saturday was an awesome day for our club, we were set for a yellow belt grading but ended up with a yellow and green. I'm so proud of these two exponents of our art, probably 40 years between them in age but but both have the same tenacity and skill set to see them all the way through, you guys rock!

Another good session on Saturday. Yellow & Green belt gradings just around the corner so the main focus is to get these done prior to the National Seminar next month!
