Starting the season with a dub! 🐳🐳🐳

After a long off season (made 1 week longer due to rain) the boys were back and ready to go, up against newcomers Shahab United FC. With a new look team (6 debuts) the boys quickly began to gel and build chemistry. But it was the regulars who opened the scoring. Will East was through on goal and dragged down, resulting in a free kick. The Italian Declan Rice (Danny) stepped up, and drilled it into the bottom corner, opening the scoring for the season.

Not long after Danny would double the lead. Shahab had a corner which was cleared to Danny on the edge of our box, who dribbled the ball the entire length of the pitch, before a cool as you like finish chipping the goalie.

The third came right before halftime with old Will (Will East) and new Will (Will Harper) linking up down the right, with new Will drilling a first time shot past the keeper. Halftime 3-0 to S***mies.

The 2nd half was a bit tighter, as the boys continued to create chances but couldn’t put any away. Shahab scored with 10 minutes to go, making for an interesting finish. The boys defended well and held on to the 3-1 win.

Match day! After Round 1 was rained off, we start our ASFA Championship season against newcomers Shahab United FC 🐳🐳🐳

After a loss in the Premier Cup last week, full attention turns to the league. It’s the first time these sides are meeting this season, with AUT sitting a few places higher than the boys so expect a tough matchup.

For the third time this season, the boys take on BOHS in the Premiership Cup. BOHS are currently 1 up on the boys in the season and with a draw in the season opening 2023 Premiership Cup Final, it’s anyone’s game tomorrow.

Matchday 6 of the ASFA Premiership saw the boys take on Zamantix Rovers Deuce at Michael’s Ave.

It was a fairly timid first half for the boys, but a brilliant start for Zamantix, who scored 2 goals in the opening 30 minutes and led 2-0 into the halftime break.

Battle plans were drawn during the halftime break and the boys knew exactly what they had to do in the second half.

The second half began with the boys attacking with more ferocity, until found space down the right wing and played a defense splitting pass to , who tucked it away. The comeback was on.

15 minutes later, scored a worldie from the edge of the box and over the keeper’s head for the equaliser!!

Zamantix scored another in the 80th minute through a fast break but did not do anything to dampen the boys spirits. With 2 minutes left to play, the boys won a corner which fell to who forced it through a tangle of legs into the bottom right hand corner to tie the game.

A brilliant effort from the boys to come back from 2 goals down!

MOTM: for the second week in a row for his equalising goal and unbelievable work rate on and off the ball.

🐳⭐️ MATCH RESULT⭐️🐳

The boys took on FC Khukuri in the first round of the Premier Cup last Sunday at Eastdale Reserve.

It was a lively start with both teams eager to get on the score sheet early. capitalised off a loose ball in the box in the 18th minute to put the boys 1-0 up. A pinpoint accurate cross from found at the back post who headed it in at the 32nd minute to provide a 2 goal buffer with the score remaining 2-0 at halftime.

The second half saw Khukuri pour on the attack looking for their equalising goals with several very good chances in the first 15 minutes after the break.

Their commitment to score left them vulnerable at the back which led to breaking down the right wing in the 65th minute and crossing it perfectly to Will, who slotted it home for his double. 15 minutes later, the roles reversed and Will unselfishly laid it off to Vatsal who calmly slotted it into the bottom corner to make it a 4-0 victory for the boys.

This Sunday, the boys take on FC Khukuri in the first round of the ASFA Premiership Cup.

Khukuri are currently in fine goal scoring form and sit 2nd in the ASFA Championship so expect the competition to be tight and fierce.

Last Sunday, the boys took on Internationale FC in Matchday 5 of the ASFA Premiership.

Both teams started off well with Inter taking an early lead through an excellent finish from the edge of the box. 10 minutes later, an even better strike by from outside the box looped over the keeper and nestled itself into the side netting at the far post. The teams went into the half time break at 1-1.

The second half was a bit more lopsided after Inter took the lead early and settled defensively. The boys had to push forward to find that equalising goal and in doing so, conceded twice in the last 10 minutes.

Not the result we wanted, but we go again this week with heads held high.
