With the Speights shield on the line, the Pirates’ coach, the Crazy Kiwi, and the captain of the injury ward, Nice McKelvie,have promised half a pallet of Speights each should the boys walk away with the bikkies.

Should be a doozy.

The Pirates host the Squids this weekend, 1pm at OSP. As several Pirates are former Squids themselves, the substitutions may get a bit blurry for referee James Bailey (named at reserve ho**er).

Clubrooms open for both the Pirates and the Castaways (playing 3.15pm) before buses take us down to Charlie’s at 8pm.

The only thing consistent about this lineup is the front row and they are JACKED.

After kicking nothing but air while looking for touch, James McKelvie earns the 10 jersey. Meanwhile Nat Upchurch puts his hand up to cover pretty much everything.

The three French guys come back from holiday, possibly with a mate, while Tydgh O’Brien and Ben Kara thank the big G for their spare thumb & ACL respectively.

James Bailey (referee) unfortunately left off the bench this week, as this small band of brothers sail to the mainland to send shock waves through the grade once again.

There will be a moment of silence before the game in memory of our brother from the #12
