Muay Thai for life!!

[ The Muay Thai headband, also known as a “Mongkhon” (alt. Mongkon or Mongkol), is a traditional headgear unique to the sport of Muay Thai. Mongkhons are blessed objects that are said to offer luck to their wearers, empower them with strength while keeping them safe from injuries and dangers.

Like the Mongkhon, Prajits, the fabric armbands are believed to grant good luck to the wearers with origins tied to the ancient times when the country was constantly at war. The armbands were usually fabric torn off a mother’s dress and tied around the arms. The symbolic act represented a mother’s blessing for the safety of the wearer.

Unlike the Mongkhon, Prajits are worn not just pre-fight, but also during fights.

Both Mongkhons and Prajits are looked upon as sacred objects and should be treated with respect at all times. They are handled with care and must never be dropped, stepped on or over. ]
