A cool clip from Fabulous Fabrications on board with us for a couple of demonstration laps on the ultra4 course and Matthew Grieve insane God winch at the NZ 4X4 Expo.
Triple EIGHT racing
We try and compete in as many NZ Ultra4 races, winch comps and even just head out on fun trips as much as we can.

Few weeks ago we were asked to do a live demonstration on a short course at the Kumeu 4x4 expo by Ultra4 NZ.
They put on a great little course which was loads of fun.
Thanks to Karlan Zink and Ethan Blyth for driving the buggy on Sunday while I was on dad duty.
We got to watch which was fun.

Last weekend we headed up to possum palace for the Enduro, Conquer the palace.
We managed to qualify 2nd out of 14 trucks after a neutral drop and coasting over the finish line in qualifying.
We started the first of the 3 races nicely and jumped out in front of the pack but only for a minute when the MAP sensor plug fell off killing the engine.
We sat there dead watching every competitor pass us.
We managed to get running again and started to settle into the groove before i noticed a rather big cluncking noise from driveline.
We stopped to investigate and saw the transmission hanging lower than it normally is and dripping a lot of fluid.
We decided to nurse it home and finish the lap then went back to the pits to access the damage and attempt to repair it.
An hour or more later we had it completely back up and running again even after nearly getting run over by the buggy.
Note to self to always chock the wheels while working on it on a hill.
We rejoined the race and smashed out as many laps as we could finishing way down in about 11th position.
The next 2 races we pushed hard and managed to win both races and climbed up to 4th position.
That first race really cost us.
But all un all we had loads of fun and the buggy went extremely well racing for about 7 hours over the weekend.
Thanks to Ethan Blyth for the strategy plan and keeping us in the hunt.
Thank you to the Norwest OHV Club for organizing it.
Great event and looking forward to next year's one.

Well........2019 I take a random kid for a ride through Woodhill forest........
2025 and our 6th annual kids day and certainly the biggest yet, was just completed!
From what started of as just offering my spare seat up to a deserving child to come for a ride with me in woodhill forest to an annual event that now has about 30 4X4s, about 50 volunteers and over 100 children and growing!
We had over 300 people come throughout the day.
All of these children are highly deserving and many are doing it tough with physical or mental disabilities to struggles with home life etc.
The list goes on and on but one day a year all of that is ignored and they come out for an adventure filled day with us in the mud and forest with as much food, ice-creams and drinks as they can eat and drink.
The occasional skin mud treatment too.
Of course all for free......because.....well they deserve it.
A massive MASSIVE thank you too soooo many people who make this day possible just to see the smile on a kids face.
Far too many to list here but you all know who you are.
Also the super important sponsors and local four wheel drive clubs as without them there's no way we could put on a all day lunch, drinks, ice-creams and with competent drivers and vehicle's as well.
And of course the families who make the big effort to get their children to woodhill which can be a task in itself.
Thank you to everyone!
