It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our much-loved brother, son, dad, uncle, and friend, Scott Aitken.
Born 7 November 1990 -
Passed away surrounded by all his family and friends on Sunday 12 April 2026
Scott will be resting at his family home:
14 Waterton Place, Avondale
Visiting hours:
Tuesday 14 April: 12:30pm - 10:30pm
Wednesday 15 April: 10:00am - 8:00pm

Scott’s final ride will begin at 10:00am Thursday 16 April
from his family home, travelling through Avondale and ending at Haven Falls Funeral Home, where his service will be held from 12:00pm - 1:45pm.
All who knew and loved Scott are welcome to come and pay their respects and celebrate his life.

ABOUT ME:
I’m a lifelong martial artist and the founder of Kings Academy in Auckland Central, a place built to develop not just fighters, but strong, disciplined individuals.
Over the years, I’ve trained and coached athletes from complete beginners to professional champions. My own journey in combat sports has been shaped by discipline, resilience, and performance at the highest levels:
• Former MMA, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, and Boxing National & International champion.
• Fastest professional MMA knockout. 4 seconds
• Multi times Jiu-Jitsu medalist (regional, national & world stage)
• Multiple medalist in Kung Fu & Taekwondo (teenage years)
My Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey spans over 20 years starting in New Zealand with Steve Oliver, and earning my black belt from both him and Ricardo Libório, co-founder of American Top Team. Along the way, I’ve earned medals across regional, national, and international competitions.
Beyond fighting, my experience extends into leadership, business, and protection:

Today, I serve as the New Zealand President of Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts - GAMMA and founder of World Martial Arts Federation - WMAF New Zealand, working to grow the sport and create real opportunities for athletes at all levels.
Outside of martial arts, I come from an IT background with a strong focus on AI and innovation. Recently, I’ve stepped into music production, not just as a hobby, but as another creative space to explore, build, and evolve.
