✨I hope everyone has had an epic Matariki long weekend. ✨
Matariki is a beautiful reminder to pause, rest, reconnect with our whānau, reflect on the year that’s been, and look ahead with hope and intention.
Sometimes the best thing you can do for your fitness journey isn’t another workout, it’s making time to recharge. Whatever it may be to realign your wairua. Rest isn’t falling behind..it’s moving forward. Even if it involves a b**g tailbone...because active 'recovery' is obvs my kind of rest 😛
Now that the batteries are (hopefully!) recharged, let’s crack into it again! Looking forward to seeing your smiling faces this week for another round of laughs, hard mahi, and (re)gaining strength!
See ya's apōpō💪

🏆 AbleFit Plank Challenge 2026 🏆
A massive well done to everyone who took part over the last 6 weeks! It’s been awesome watching the consistency, determination, and grit on display each week...even when motivation levels were low. 💪
This wasn’t just about seeing who could hold a plank the longest. It was about turning up, testing yourself, building core strength, improving posture and stability, and proving that progress comes from small, consistent efforts over time.
Over the challenge, we’ve tackled almost every plank variation front planks, side planks, moving planks, shoulder taps, mountain climbers etc. Safe to say we’ve spent a fair amount of time staring at the floor over the last 6 weeks! 😅
To make things even spicier, many participants chose to complete their test planks with 2kg, 5kg, and even 10kg plates loaded on their backs. Not exactly a casual core workout. 🔥
Most Improved Plankers
🥇 Steve Covacich (+3:57)
🥇 Debbie Stephens (+3:57)
An incredible effort from both, adding 3 minutes and 57 seconds to their Week 1 times and sharing the top spot! 🙌
🥉 Honourable Mention: Diane Fedorov (+2:35)
A huge leap from 1:34 to 4:09 over the challenge. Outstanding mahi!!
A special shout-out also to everyone who chipped away at their PBs each week. Whether your improvement was 10 seconds or nearly 4 minutes, progress is progress. And that's what this thang is all about 💪
Ka rawe for embracing the challenge, supporting each other, and showing that consistency beats motivation more often than not. The real prize is stronger bodies, stronger minds, and knowing you’re capable of more than you think!
