With the off-season officially here, it’s time to strip down the Langslow Engineering Ltd - J. A. Russell Ltd midget and give it a birthday before the upcoming season again.

The first on the list of jobs is pulling the Toyota Racing motor out and sending it back to the team at Speedway Motors for a fresh rebuild.

That’s a wrap on the season in the Langslow Engineering - J. A. Russell Ltd Midget.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite the year we were hoping for, with the weather getting the better of us on 10 occasions and limiting our track time. Hopefully next year brings some better weather for racing.

On the results side though, it’s been our best season to date across the 11 races we did get to run:

• 11 Top 10 finishes
• 8 Top 5 finishes
• 4 Podiums
• 1 Win
• Average finish of 4.5

P4 on the final night down south at Ruapuna Speedway for the Midget Gold Cup in the Langslow Engineering - J. A. Russell Ltd Midget.

The night didn’t start ideal. In Heat 1 we rolled off 10th and worked our way up to 6th before I half-spun and stalled, sending us to the rear. We managed to recover back to P7.

Heat 2 was much better we started P3 and finished P3.

That lined us up P9 for the feature. We drove forward to P4 and got ourselves into a 4-way battle for the lead. After a restart I didn’t quite choose the right lane and it cost us late, finishing P4 just short of the podium.

The boys gave me a seriously fast car all weekend, just didn’t execute when it counted at the end on my side.

All in all, a positive weekend with two top 5s.

Massive shoutout to Ruapuna Speedway for putting together two unreal race tracks across both nights, couldn’t have asked for better and the awesome hospitality.

Next up: Lucas Oil Auckland Speedway this Saturday night, weather depending.

P🥈 Last night gave it everything we had last night in the Langslow Engineering, J. A. Russell Ltd midget coming home P2 by just 0.100 in a photo finish at the BT Race 4 Mates.

We took the lead early but lost it in lap traffic. Pushed hard to get it back, but a yellow with 5 to go didn’t play into our hands. Had one last shot on the final lap, but came up just short.

Qualified 2nd overall as the 21st car out, which lined us up 6th for our heat, we finished P3. That put us 2nd on points for the night and starting P5 in the feature after the invert. Managed to work our way forward early and finish P2.

Huge thanks to the Townsend family for all the effort that goes into putting this event together each year, it definitely doesn’t go unnoticed.

Locked and loaded, heading down south with the Langslow Engineering - J. A. Russell Ltd Midget!

Can’t wait to get back to Ruapuna Speedway for the BT Race 4 Mates on Friday night always a special event for a great cause, then straight into the Gold Cup on Saturday night.

It’s been about a month since we last raced after a couple of rainouts, so I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel. Always appreciate the awesome hospitality down south, and it’s shaping up to be a good weekend with the weather on our side.

Unfortunately no racing for us this weekend in the Langslow Engineering - J. A. Russell Ltd Midget.

Next up, we’re heading to Wellington next Saturday on March 28th for the Wellington Champs. It’ll be our first time racing there, so we’re looking forward to ticking off a new track and seeing what we can do.

North Island Champions!! 🏆

We managed to park the Langslow Engineering - J. A. Russell Ltd midget in victory lane for the first time at Kihikihi Speedway, taking out the North Island Champs last night.

Heat one we started 8th and worked our way up to 2nd.
Heat two we started 3rd and managed to take the win.

This made us the highest points qualifier for the feature, so we started off the pole. We led all 25 laps and set the fastest lap of the race. It was a bit nerve racking with all the yellows, but we finally managed to get the job done.

Tough night on last Saturday Night in the Langslow Engineering - J. A. Russell Ltd Midget at Kihikihi Speedway.

We had a good heat 1 going 7th - 4th, Heat 2 we started 4th and worked our way upto 2nd by the end of the first lap. A car passed us back and spun infront of us unfortunately leaving us nowhere to go and hitting him we ended up with a dnf this put us at the back for the feature and we ended up finishing 10th

Massive thanks to the guys for thrashing to put a new front end in the car after the short turn around between races so we could make it back out for the feature.

Unfortunately this weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway has been cancelled our next run is the following weekend at kihikihi speedway for the North Island Champs.

P4 at the NZGP!

First time back in the Langslow Engineering - J. A. Russell Ltd Midget after over a month and a half out of it for the New Zealand Grand Prix last weekend at Palmerston North Speedway.

Heat one we finished 5th

Heat two we finished 2nd

This put us 4th on points for the pole shuffle we finished 4th in the pole shuffle

For the feature we got into 3rd early and the got passed and then went back to 4th a few restarts happened and we dropped back to 5th and the raced our way 4th and up to make a pass for 3rd i made a mistake though and cost us a shot at 3rd. Thats on me on though onto this next weekend at McDonalds Kihikihi Speedway.
