A foggy start to the day for College Sport matchplay and prize giving but the sun soon shone through for the end of this Term 1 competition.
A great competition and excellent sportsmanship shown across the range.

Friday was a wonderful afternoon at Auckland Archery Club with 16 members from Blind Low Vision NZ and BLENNZ having a go at archery.
Archery is a great sport to be fully adaptable and inclusive.
Great work from our coaches and lots of fun and success for everyone involved.
Big thanks to our friends at PAK'nSAVE Royal Oak for transport funding, afternoon tea and coming along to support this activity.

A closer look at why the range is so busy on Wednesday afternoons right now - College Sport Archery - a massive inter school archery competition being held at AAC and MGAC. Run for many years by the indomitable Jeanette Franklyn and her team, it’s a massive undertaking.
30 schools (4 brand new to it this year) from across Tamaki Makaurau, with teams and individual archers. In total, 175 archers each week shooting at AAC with a further 43 at MGAC.
Skill levels range from international reps and experienced field archers, to those just off a coaching course. If they can shoot safely, we welcome their participation. Some kids only get to shoot in this competition with their school team and not again for the rest of the year.
Really great shooting from SO many young archers including two event records being broken this week:
Compound pairs - Westlake Boys High Barebow individual - Diocesan School for Girls.
All results are on the College Sport website
https://www.collegesport.co.nz/sports-1/archery
Parents may also wish to download the College Sport app as this is the absolute bible for keeping in touch with all CS events; results, venue changes, session changes, cancelations etc.
There 4 more weeks of competition, and we welcome and encourage people to come and watch.
PSA - Unfortunately due to the ongoing limited building and gear access at our club building after the storm damage in September, we are unable to run our popular Have A Go Days at this stage. We are hoping to be in a better position to restart these events in the Spring.
As there have been a number of enquiries recently, we’d just like to repeat our message that unfortunately since our club building was badly damaged in the September storms, we have cancelled our Have A Go days until future notice. We’re not yet in a position to handle large groups of people. Keep an eye out here for dates in the future though. We will publicise when we can get up and running again.
