Sigh… the pressurised environment and then the calm of inaction… Sun & Earth shift into stillness & joy.
Tis a funny thing this Christmas time. The nuances of family gatherings and how we all have our own way of working within the fields of Holiday Season, buying presents, being in angst over what to get and how much to spend and what to prepare and how to be with this person or that depending on whichever gathering they are going to. Or not. There is always the or not.
I’ve observed myself over the years and how I’ve gone through the aforementioned. For a while it was painful for me, painful in watching the needless suffering within family dynamics and pressures to act or be in a certain way. It was finally in my thirties that I chose to spend this Day appreciating the beauty of nature or curled up with book and enjoying the stillness of presence while contemplating from a distance, the love of each being rather than the chaos that these being’s in my life presented. No longer did I have this fear of missing out, but rather appreciating an opportunity to loving serve through mindful presence.
Over the years, I’ve found more balance, balance between being social and being a hermit. A similar thread weaves through though, this is a wonderful time to be in the listening and also to be in the bringing focus or awareness of what pressures are in the field in comparison to what pressures are true for this path we each walk in our own way. With each awareness reached and pattern shifted, I find myself opening up spaces for more light to be embodied and above all my relationships to flourish with more than simple toil.
As I write out this contemplation, the Sun/Earth transit shifts from the 10/15 to 58/52 - tomorrow at 15:00 Rarotonga time, the Full Moon is exact in 52.2 Concern, a pause that is initiated to benefit others. Tomorrows Full Moon brings an energy of its own, today however with the Sun in 58.1 brings joy and fuels love of life.
In the iChing, Ra writes: The very stimulation of the world is the basis of an aesthetic appreciation of its beauty and wonder. Alone or shared with others this profound inner realization is the key for a joyous harmony with the process of being.
So, the day I wish for you, a love of life fuelled with silence and enough time to pause, and settle into the comforting silence of your own mind, unfettered by distractions, preconceptions or projections of doing that which you believe you are ’supposed’ to do.
