A wrap up of our rep campaign winners 😤

Unbeaten campaigns from our U18 1A Boys and U18 Central/West Girls resulted in championship runs while our U16 East boys were also unbeaten in the internal Auckland representative competition.

A special shout out to our U20s and Auckland B who both recorded wins over Canterbury, with the B’s taking home the Coronation Shield for winning their respective campaign.

Auckland Rugby is saddened by the passing of Cheryl Waaka, a proud Auckland Storm representative, Black Fern and fierce competitor who made a lasting impact on rugby.

Identified as an outstanding talent playing for College Ri**es in 1996, Cheryl quickly became part of an unbeaten Auckland Storm side before earning Black Fern honours in 1997. She wore the blue and white hoops with immense pride, earning the respect and admiration of teammates at every level.

Cheryl continued to give back to the game through coaching and serving her rugby community in Kaikohe.

Just weeks ago, Auckland Rugby officially capped its Storm alumni for the first time. Although Cheryl was too unwell to attend, we are so grateful she knew of this long-overdue recognition and received her official capping coin and number, Storm #129.

Our heartfelt condolences are with Cheryl’s whānau, friends and former teammates. Her legacy will live on in the Auckland Storm whānau and the many lives she touched.

Once a Storm, always a Storm. 💙🤍

FT in Christchurch.

Not the way we wanted to go out, but a hell of a year to get here with so many memories and milestone to cherish.

So much youth and excitement to be proud of in this group. The future is definitely looking bright.

Until next year Aucklanders 🫡
