Remember this?
The Iceman had a fairytale finish in his last ever game at his beloved Eden Park, beating Wellington 24-18 π΅βͺοΈ
After a brutal and scoreless first half, Jones was escorted from the field looking battered and broken.
A Caleb Ralph try early in the first half put some confidence into the home side, just in time for Jones to return to the field.
Auckland iced the game from here scoring again off the back of a break from a young Doug Howlett.
Wellingtonβs Filo Tiatia stormed in for a late try in the dying minutes, but the story was set. Jones would leave the field for the last time, as a champion in his hometown once again.
