A huge thank you to our amazing supporters who helped make our 25/26 Prizegiving so special!
We are incredibly grateful to The Trusts Supporters Club, The Hangar, and Iti for their generous funding towards our prizegiving medals, trophies, and engraving. Because of your support, we were able to properly recognise and celebrate the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our players this season.
Opportunities like this mean so much to our club and our whānau — we couldn’t do it without you!

Shades Direct Div 2 Men do it again!
Congratulations to our Div 2 men who have gone back to back in Auckland Championships with their walk off win against a great Glenora team today.
The game was back and forth all day, but Mr Reliable Brayden Jones hit a walk off double to score young catcher Jackson Moyle and Magpies newbie Sam Sharma to bring the div 2 title home.

U13 CHAMPIONS!!!
Congratulations to our U13 Magpies who have just won the Auckland U13 Championship!
Amazing work from all involved. This team was formed from mainly Kelston Intermediate Students who wanted to give softball a go this season.

Congratulations to the U15 & Ladies POD’s from last Sat!
The U15’s had a 13-10 win over Marist and the Ladies team had a 13-5 win over Mt Wellington Aces with Vee working hard to stop the stealing on the pass balls!
This means that both teams made it into Finals tomorrow at Howick. Well done and good luck for tomorrow 🥎👊

Our U13 Mixed Magpies travelled out to Papatoetoe on Saturday for their semi-final clash against the top of the table Rascals, a team we hadn’t managed to beat before. Magpies came out firing, opening the game with some big hitting including three home runs in the first innings, with Papatoetoe matching the effort to keep things tight early. The second innings saw our Magical Magpies really take control! With the bases loaded, Rakoia smashed one down the field bringing three runners’ home, followed by some patient walks and another big hit from Kingston to send more runners across the plate. Big hits from Dwayne and Arama kept the momentum rolling, and by the end of the innings Magpies had built a huge lead. The defence then stepped up, with Rakoia striking out three batters in the next innings to shut Papatoetoe down and keep the pressure on.
The team stayed composed, focused and confident for the rest of the game, finishing with an outstanding 19–8 win, a massive first victory over the Rascals. It was a true team performance, with every player stepping up and contributing when it mattered most, so Player of the Day went to the whole team.
The growth, determination and teamwork this group has shown throughout the season has been awesome to watch, and we’re incredibly proud of them as they now head into next week’s final.

On Saturday, our Shades Direct Div 2 Men faced off against Howick in the Semi Final. We knew it was a fight or flight game which had to be won. Howick drew first blood scoring 1 run in the first innings. Shortly after, our men fired back in the top of the 3rd with Jordan smashing one past 2nd scoring two runs putting us into the lead. That bats stayed hot through the next two innings with Brayden and Corey putting it over the fence. Fielding was just as good with Jordan firing one in from right field to take a runner heading to two. Our men kept that momentum until the final call coming up with the win 7-2 securing a place in the final next week against Glenora!
POD goes to Corey Lam for smashing his first auto!!

A 'do or die' semi-final for both Magpies Thunder and Ramblers Sharks U12's on Saturday. Both teams have handed each other a loss the last two times we've met so everyone knew it was going to be a tough game! 1st innings and Thunder push out to a 7-3 lead. 2nd innings and the Sharks fight back, 7 runs to our 4 taking us into the 3rd innings with the score at 11-10, to Thunder. Only 1 run in the 3rd, to the Sharks and the score is now 11 all going into the 4th and final innings! Sharks run in 2 as Thunder go into bat, bottom of the 4th. Unfortunately, our kids just couldn't get those last 3 runs?! With some locked in pitching from the Sharks and a run out between bases, final score 13-12 win to the Ramblers Sharks! Such a good game of softball!
POD to the whole team who have had an amazing season to finish 3rd in their competition. An indication of how far they've come was the TWO double plays they got in this semi-final!
