Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone from the South Island Team - Harley and Arthur.

Have we introduced you to this hairy guy? If not Rip is the newest addition to the NZDDS team and is a drug detection superstar who LOVES his work, he and Kai are a pretty awesome team along with Sarah their handler.

Spring has definitely sprung in beautiful Cambridge. The team took some time out today in between jobs to smell the daffodils 😊

The boys relaxing at home after a busy week of work, in between rain showers. We hope everyone is staying warm & special birthday wishes also to Devon who rescued our amazing boy Kai when he was a puppy and was kind enough to trust us with his care.

In 2009, a beautiful brown dog was being cared for by the Humane Society - she had been rehomed many times and never found her place, until she came to NZ Detector Dogs - she was one of the first dogs in of our original team of 4. Bree became a valued member of NZDDS working mainly in the South Island till retiring with her original handler Wayne Pitcaithly in Dunedin in 2019. Sadly Bree passed away at Christmas. A beautiful dog with a beautiful soul who worked tirelessly, loving every moment of her life. Bree will be missed by everyone in our team and especially Wayne and his family. Thank you to everyone who helped save and care for this special little dog - the Humane Society, Tina Hatfield, and all her handlers, especially Wayne.

Java's 7th Birthday today! From little big ears to beautiful birthday girl - so glad we saved this little soul on her last scheduled day on earth! Java has repaid the favour in spades by becoming an outstanding member of the NZDDS team. Thank you to the team at Manukau Pound who saved this dear little soul.
