What an amazing day we had on Sunday, at the Reid family's beautiful "Tui Waters" farm in the Mangatangi Valley - and our Blue Ribbon Charity auction & champagne breakfast for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand raised over $13,000!

A huge thank you to everyone who made this day such a success: from the many people (including underbidders!) who put their hands up to buy; and from the masterminds behind the scenes, organising everything; from everyone who turned up on the day to celebrate, donate and get into the spirit of the day - and all the generous people & companies who donated to the auction:

đź©· Last year, we hosted a Pink Ribbon fundraiser at one of our most popular meets, at the Reid Family's beautiful "Tui Waters" farm in the Mangatangi Valley.
🥂With a champagne breakfast at the start of the day, and a Charity auction to close, we raised $5400 for Breast Cancer NZ. 🩵🩵This year, we are doing it for the lads - we will be dressed in blue, and raising funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand.
🎗️Just as last season, we have been offered a range of wonderful and generous donations from members and landowners alike. These will run as an online auction from Monday night until SUNDAY the 10th May, 10am.
➡️The comment posting the highest bid at this time on each photo, will be the opening bid for the live charity auction held at 11am on Sunday. Please be generous with your bids - it's for a great cause!

Last Friday, The Pakuranga Hunt hosted a Seminar/Workshop for a group of 1st & 2nd season huntsmen from hunts all over the country, run through the NZ Hunts' Association. With refreshments provided by Nicola Scott, Anne Watts and Deputy Master Shayne Rieger, the day's learning was led by our huntsman Ryan Smith and Waikato Hunt's past huntsman Lauryn Robinson, assisted by our past huntsman Guy Marriner, as well as Craig Hurst ,Tim Speech, past Master Ivan Bridge and Joint Master Graham Shaw.
Topics covered included breeding programmes, animal husbandry, training the pack, hound shows, etc. We had a great turn out and lots of positive feedback from the attendees - it's good to see the future of hunting in New Zealand in good hands with this fresh talent coming through.
Thank you to the New Zealand Hunts Association for their support in running this ev

Our huntsman Ryan Smith, ably assisted by his partner Nicola Scott and Joint Master Graham Shaw, took the hounds for an outing at the Franklin A&P Show today. They were much admired by the crowd, both for their impeccable behaviour, as well as their friendly cuddles afterwards!

Pakuranga Hunt
The oldest Hunt in New Zealand, the Pakuranga Hunt, was established in 1872, with their imported hounds becoming the foundation of bloodlines here in New Zealand. Such an amazing atmosphere to be out hunting with the hounds. Thank you, Pakuranga Hunt, and their amazing secretary, Angenita Moore!
