Bit of a damp start to the day but it cleared up to a great day of golf with some great scores!

Probably the highest scoring parrot hat went to Colin McRae on countback with 30 points!

23 of us teed off on a foggy morning at Waikare on the 14th. We managed not to lose anyone in the dense fog (although no mention of the number of balls MIA...)
The sun eventually brightened things up and it turned into a fantastic day as always!

Phil Webb and Gary Douglas took the day with 37pts, followed by Darryl Beazely and Scotty Crouth on 36.

Our next game will be at Huntley on the 19th July. A 09:30 tee time with the coach muster at 07:30, leaving SRFC (Shadbolt park) at 07:45.

Another great game at Mangawhai! There was a good turnout to play for the 'Gin and Ice Cream' trophy, despite the weather being a bit miserable at the start, it finished strong! This year the coveted trophy was won by Kings Arms GC by 6 shots!
Some of the top scores were Kevin Baldwin an excellent round of 37, new member Derek Stevenson had a 36, Bob Cargill 33pts, these 3 led the way to the club’s victory. Full results are attached. Polly was won by Warren Fraser! Unfortunately parrots don't travel well in cars so perhaps a special mention will need to be made on the next coach trip...

Speaking of: Our next game is at Waikere Golf Club on Sunday 14th June with a 9AM tee time. The coach will be at Suburbs RFC (Shadbolt Park) at 7AM for a 7:10AM SHARP departure.

Bad news everyone. Due to the expected terrible weather and likely resulting course conditions, our game at Waiuku on Sunday has been cancelled.

What a great game against Onehunga! The weather came to play and so did we!

Kings Arms won the day 348 to 341, with Nick Thomas winning the day for the Kings Arms section, followed by Johnny and Kevin.

The coveted Parrots Hat was won by Darryl!

Our next game is on Sunday 19th April at Waiuku, with a 09:30 tee time. Keep an eye out for the newsletter for the bus meetup and departure times.

I bit late with the notice but don't forget that we are playing against the Onehunga Working Mens Club this Sunday 15th March at Onewhero Golf Club!

We are meeting at the Suburbs RFC at 07:50 for an 8am departure.

What a fantastic day of golf at Wellsford on the 14th. Golf to finally have the day not rained out!

The real winner though was Mark Calder with the parrot hat!

Unfortunately the decision has been made to cancel the 3 day away trip due to lack of numbers.
We will instead play on the 12th October at Ngaruawahia.

In case anyone didn't get the update, this Sundays (13th July 2025) game at Waiuku has been cancelled to the course being too waterlogged for carts, and more rain forecast.

Just to update everyone, this Sundays (15th June) game at Waikare has been Postponed to 10th August due to course conditions.

There will be NO game this Sunday.

Our next game is on Sunday 13 July 2025 at Waiuku.
