Ever wondered what makes a TA2 car tick?

Over the next few weeks we're lifting the lid on the TA2 NZ Series to show you exactly what makes these cars the most authentic things on four wheels.

Because here's the funny part: in an age where your daily driver can park itself, brake for you, and politely beep if you cross a white line, a TA2 car does absolutely none of it. No traction control. No ABS. A gear stick you actually shift by hand. Just a 525 horsepower engine and not much between it and the driver's foot.

We're calling it the Anti-Tech Files — a weekly look at everything a TA2 car doesn't have, and why that's exactly what makes it so good to watch.

Got into motorsport at the age of 12 via 2K Cup SI, NZ Formula ford and GR86. I moved to TA2 for a new challenge and to experience close door to door racing in a V8. For the direction I want to head in which is NASCAR TA2 was the next best step for me in my Career.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲-𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲)?
Always listen to music or skipping, and go and meet the grid girls if we have some — it seemed to give me some good luck at my TA2 round in Australia. I always live by driving every race like it's your last, and if you ain't first, you're last.

Finding financial support for this upcoming season has been challenging so what I'm looking forward to is having the opportunity to be on the grid and to get back behind the wheel.

We can't wait to see Caleb back out there when the season kicks off!

The off-season is here, but that doesn’t mean things go quiet at TA2 NZ!

While the cars take a breather, we thought it was the perfect time to shine a light on some of the people behind the wheel. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be running a Meet the Driver series right here on Facebook — a chance to get to know some of our drivers a little better, away from the noise of race day.

Expect a few laughs, some honest answers, and maybe a favourite victory-lap song or two along the way. It’s all about giving our fans a closer look at the personalities that make this category what it is.
