Kohimarama Yacht Club (KYC)

Today, KYC Life Member Peter Thompson was appointed a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) in the King's Birthday Honours for his outstanding services to philanthropy and rugby.
Congratulations Peter, on this well-deserved and prestigious honour. We are delighted to see your generosity, commitment, and contribution to the community recognised at the highest level.

Your support and dedication have made a lasting difference to countless people, organisations, and our little club, and we are incredibly proud to have you as a Life Member of KYC.

While most sailing around Tāmaki Makaurau was cancelled today due to strong winds, the sailors attending the NZIODA Optimist Camp in Whangaparāoa were still out on the water making the most of the conditions.

KYC was proudly represented by 10 keen optimist sailors and coaches Sean and Rowan, who spent the weekend developing their heavy-weather sailing skills alongside sailors from clubs across the country.

A fantastic effort from everyone involved. Well done team KYC!

Fantastic to see KYC sailors represented across every podium position and even more heart-warming is seeing half of the fleet made up of Kohi sailors.

A massive congratulations to KYC sailor Isla Brown and her helm Flora Stevens from Glendowie Boating Club for winning the girls national title at the NZ RS Feva Association Nationals last weekend and for taking out second place overall. This is such a great result - well done girls. Super proud!
