Mery brings passion, experience, and serious dance credentials to Viva’s kids’ classes! 💃

With over 10 years in urban dance, Mery is the visionary behind the commercial dance company G.O.F. (Great Original Family) and creator of training projects like Agüita Fresh, nurturing young talent with creativity and heart.

From international stages to music videos and festivals, she’s done it all – and now she’s here to inspire our next generation of little dancers! 🌟

Meet Professor (teacher in Portuguese) Andrés!

Andrés began his Capoeira journey 14 years ago in Medellín, Colombia with the group Anauê Capoeira, where he earned his graduation belt. In 2020, he began his transition to Maculelê Capoeira and in 2022, he was awarded the Professor corda (teacher's belt) - a testament to his dedication, growth, and passion for the art.

Over the years, Andrés has represented Capoeira at events across Colombia, Brazil, New Zealand and Honk Kong — from performances, competitions, graduations to training intensives. He brings that same energy, skill, and joy to every class.

💬Andrés - “Capoeira to me represents happiness, and I want to share that happiness with the world by helping this art grow and become known to more people. It’s a tool to explore your body’s full potential—improving strength, flexibility, mental health, coordination, and musicality—while creating deep cultural connections.”

Since starting classes with us, Andrés has built a strong and vibrant Capoeira community. His students love him, and the energy is growing! Last year, we celebrated our first 'Batizado' — a beautiful moment where students received their first cords (belts) and took a big step forward in their Capoeira journey.

Looking for a birthday party that’s memorable, fun, and easy to organize? Look no further! At Viva Dance, we’ve got everything you need to throw the ultimate dance party that your child will never forget – and you can relax while we handle the details!
Our parties are held at our fully equipped dance studios in Central Auckland, or if you prefer, we can come to your home. Whether your child loves shaking it to the latest pop hits or grooving to a cool dance style, we’ve got it covered. Our dance parties are fun for both boys and girls of all ages and abilities, so everyone can join in on the fun.

We know how stressful party planning can be, so we’ve made it easy for you. From party entertainment to food, decorations, studio hire, and clean-up, we’ve got you covered!

Your Party Package Includes:
1 hour of dance class & group games: Our professionally trained instructors will lead the way with a fun dance class tailored to your child’s favourite style. Expect plenty of laughs, games, and a mini dance performance at the end!
2 hours of café and studio hire: After the dance party, relax in our café and chill out in the studio – it’s the perfect spot for cake and celebrations.
Party table decorations: We’ll make sure your party space is decked out with fun décor, balloons, and everything you need to set the mood.
Pick & Mix – Customize Your Perfect Party!
We want to make sure your party is exactly what you want! Choose from these options to create the perfect celebration for your little one:
Dance Class – Pick a dance style (Hip-hop, Latin, Ballet, etc.), or let our expert instructors lead a fun mix of games, dance routines, and a mini performance.
Café Hire – Want a bit more time to enjoy the party? You can hire the café/studio for extra time and bring your own catering and decorations!
Extras – Want to add even more excitement? You can book a face painter to turn the partygoers into magical characters, or set up a photo booth with a backdrop, ring light, and fun props to capture the silly, happy moments. For the grown-ups, we can also provide a cheese board & bubbly in the café, so they can relax while the kids dance the day away!
