Last week Kevin shot his first red for several years. This well conditioned hind only went 27 yards after a front on shot. As you can see Kevin was really happy how the hunt unfolded.

Kevin with a sika hind he shot last week from 24 yards. He had a great trip away shooting three deer. Kevin’s Sitka camo did a great job of concealing him in the beech forest.

Kevin closed the deal on a very annoying sika hind last night. She whistled for 15 minutes an hour before she came into bow range.

Kevin’s preparing for an aerial mission after sika. At the weekend he got some practice in from a tree. After some fine tuning with his saddle he is ready to go.

Kevin got to use a Trophy Boil at the weekend to clean up a couple of red heads Conor shot. Fantastic product. Kevin highly recommends it. The water temperature doesn’t reach boiling point but is hot enough to clean up a head. Because it doesn’t boil there is no mess.

Some days it all comes together.
Both of these stags were shot within 20 mins.
The first was a perfect shot quartering away at 20y on an animal that didn’t know we were there.
The second was a front on heart shot at 10y on a revved up stag.
The ARC 34 paired with a HLR tipped with the Pro 3 mechanical is proving to be a deadly combination for Kevin and I.
Both of these stags ended up 20y away from each other.
Bowhunting is hard and can be frustrating at times. The animal doesn’t quite walk into your shooting lane or doesn’t present the right shot angle (We had plenty of that this week). All those moments where it just doesn’t work out makes it all the sweeter when it does.
