While Pull-ups and Chin-ups may be the long-term ultimate goal exercises for upper back.

Lat Pulldowns are the same movement and often can be done with much better mechanics.

πŸ”ΈNarrower Grip - palms up (supinated grip)

πŸ”ΈLet the Shoulder Blades β€˜glide’ freely
πŸ”ΈPull the Elbows back-and-down each rep

πŸ”ΈSqueeze Shoulder Blades together and down into the back pockets - while keeping the chest β€˜up’ every rep

πŸ”ΈSqueeze and Pause the β€˜Lats’ (muscles under your armpits) at the bottom of each rep
