The Under 17 boys were involved in another thrilling contest last weekend, taking on the Bay Roskill Vikings at Sunnynook Park.

It was a hard-fought game from start to finish, with the lead changing hands throughout the match. Neither side could break clear, and after an entertaining 60 minutes of rugby league, the teams couldn't be separated, finishing in a well-earned 22-22 draw.

It was a great display of footy from both teams, with plenty of determination, skill, and resilience shown right through to the final whistle.

U8 Ghounds vs. Te Atatū Roosters

​Ngā mihi nui for hosting us today, Roosters Whānau. We want to send our deepest love and condolences to you all after the loss of one of your coaches. We stood together with you today. ❤️

The GHounds turned up ready and from kick off, it was an absolute cracker.
Every single player stepped up and left everything out there. Our attack was firing on all cylinders, slicing through gaps, while our defense was a huge team effort. We were relentless and organised.
Credit to the Roosters for an entertaining spectacle that kept everyone on the sidelines on the edge of their seats!

🟤🟢 U7 Mighty Hounds 🟢🟤
A tough day at the office for our Mighty Pups, with a few of our teammates away sick. Despite being short handed, every player dug deep, showed resilience, and never gave up.

The effort from the whole team was something to be proud of. They stuck together, encouraged one another, and battled hard from the first whistle to the last. The determination and heart they showed are what being a Mighty Pup is all about. Every week we continue to see these kids grow in confidence, teamwork, and toughness.

A huge thank you to all our parents and supporters for turning up week in and out cheering all our players! We appreciate you all!

💚🤎 Young Pups 💚🤎

Young pups played against Ponsonby Ponies yesterday and what a great game from start to finish our young pups showed so much courage and skill, even though we had no subs they pushed through with tierd legs and scored some awesome tries and made some great tackles.
Each week they are growing in confidence and showing great team work.
Massive thank you to Kahu, Theo and Izzy from the hound pups who stepped up and played two games this weekend so our young pups could field a team 💚🤎

Theo made some outstanding tackles and scored some great tries, he was in every play helping his team mates showing so much determination and skill.

Kahu put in so much work yesterday running from one side of the field to the next constantly helping complete tackles and back up her team mates.

Izzy was our top try scorer yesterday, he had some awesome runs and great defence even after hurting his hand he continued to show up for his team mates

🟤🟢Under 16 Boys🟢🟤

The Greyhounds hosted the Pakuranga Jaguars at Sunnynook Park in what was a must-win clash as the boys looked to fight their way back into the top four.

After a tough lesson the previous week, the boys responded with a much stronger start, showing great energy and determination from the opening whistle. Glenfield were first to put points on the board and quickly backed it up with another try to build an early 8–0 lead.

Pakuranga responded with a momentum-shifting play, breaking away for a length-of-the-field try to score under the posts and close the gap to 8–6.

From there, it became a true arm wrestle, with both teams battling hard and trading momentum throughout the remainder of the match. The intensity stayed high right up until the final whistle, with the Greyhounds showing great resilience and composure to hold on for a thrilling 24–22 victory.

This was a hugely important result for the boys, moving them back into the top four with just one more round-robin game remaining. The job is not done yet though, with a big clash against Otara next week as the boys look to build momentum heading into the semi-finals.

Another gritty performance from our U10 Glenfield Greyhounds today against a determined New Lynn Stags side. It was try for try from the opening whistle, with neither team giving an inch. In the end, just two points separated the sides, with the Greyhounds holding on for a hard-earned victory. 🐾

🏆 Player of the Day: Ihaia – Powerful carries and tackle-breaking runs gave us the momentum we needed when it mattered most.

💥 Tackler of the Day: Ezra – His fearless defence against the Stags’ biggest runners laid the platform for our team all game.

👏 Fair Play Award: Avery – Took some tough carries, copped plenty of knocks, but bounced back up every time and never stopped competing.

A fantastic team effort. Keep backing each other, working hard, and playing for the player beside you.

U6 Hound Pups vs Waitemata Seagulls

Friday night under the lights at Sunnynook made for a fun and exciting game for our players. Our team are showing great signs of reading the game and timing their defense off the line. It's great to see so much improvement with only a few weeks of tackling under their belt.
