Our new Premier Competition Naming Rights Partner for 2027, The Trusts 🤝

Netball Waitākere General Manager Murray Gardiner says the partnership reflects a shared commitment to community sport across West Auckland.

“Our relationship with The Trusts goes back many years, and we really appreciate the support they’ve given us to help deliver netball to the community,” says Gardiner.

“It’s really important to us that netball is accessible to everyone, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, ability or background. That focus on community, equity and inclusion is something we share with The Trusts, so it’s great to have their support behind our Premier Competition in 2027.”

Netball Waitākere brings more than 7,500 Westies together through netball every year, from five-year-olds learning their first pass to premier players competing at the top of the club game. Alongside that sit walking netball for older players and an all-access disability programme for tamariki with additional needs, so there really is a place on court for everyone.

We're proud to be renewing our naming rights sponsorship of The Trusts 2027 Premier Competition, running Wednesday evenings from April through August with 12 teams across two divisions. Games are livestreamed too, so whānau near and far can cheer the teams on.

Aotearoa Māori Netball is proud to be hosting this years Pacific Rim Tournament. Bringing teams from across Aotearoa and the Pacific together for the 2026 Pacific Rim Invitational Secondary Schools Tournament!

Three days of high-quality netball, fierce competition, cultural connection and plenty of mahi on court! 💪🏽🏐

This tournament is about more than winning, it’s about whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, cultural pride and creating opportunities for our rangatahi to test themselves against some of the best young talent from across the Pacific. 🌏

Today, we’re excited to share a significant step forward for the future of our elite domestic competition in Aotearoa 🏐

Netball New Zealand has signed a non-binding term sheet with investors Anna Mowbray and Ali Williams to work towards privatising our elite domestic competition from 2027.

This means we’re working towards a professional competition where players have a meaningful career pathway, coaches and support staff have opportunities, fans have teams to get behind, and young netballers around the motu have athletes to look up to.

This work has been shaped in consultation with the New Zealand Netball Players’ Association and the Zones, and we’re all feeling positive about the direction we’re heading.

We know the past three years have been incredibly challenging for everyone who loves this game; players, teams, coaches, match officials, staff and fans.

So today is about looking forward. There’s more work to do, but this is an important step towards a strong, sustainable future for elite netball in Aotearoa.
