Main Pool & Dive Well Update

Our main pool and dive well are scheduled to reopen on Monday 12 October.

As contractors progressed through the planned works, they encountered unforeseen challenges with the installation of the solution. We now have a plan in place that will allow us to reopen and operate safely.

Our small pool, spa, steam room and sauna remain open as usual.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to welcoming you back! 💙

Open facilities: Small Pool, Spa, Steam Room and Sauna.

In the meantime, members can visit other Leisure sites. Simply show your membership tag at reception at:
Takapuna • West Wave • Stanmore • Albany • Birkenhead

The deadlift is one of those fundamental movements worth learning — whether you’re training in the gym or joining us in BODYPUMP, BODYPUMP HEAVY or Strength Development.

A few cues from Frida:
👉 Long spine as you hinge from the hips
👉 Stick your butt back
👉 Brace your core
👉 Keep the bar close to your legs
👉 Drive through the feet and squeeze the glutes as you stand

Wanting to lift heavier in the gym? Take your time building the movement first. Keep your spine strong and neutral, brace before you lift, control the weight and increase your load gradually as your technique improves.

Why deadlift? 💪 It’s a brilliant compound movement that builds strength through your glutes, hamstrings, back and core — while teaching you how to safely pick up and move weight from the ground.

And the best part? You can learn and practise movements like this while having fun in Group Fitness! 🙌

Come try BODYPUMP, BODYPUMP HEAVY, Strength Development and more here at Glenfield.
