So proud of my colleague Kris at Exercise as Medicine New Zealand -- what an awesome recognition of your years of service to the fitness industry and to your commitment to not only providing an exercise opportunity for people who most need support to participate, but to your commitment to upskilling other trainers to do the same. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your knowledge and experience and for continuing to lead from the front, shining your light so brightly that the rest of us have a path to follow. This recognition is so well deserved -- and is an important recognition and a validation of the importance of specialist exercise providers everywhere! Congratulations Kris!
We are delighted to announce that Kristine Ellen Tynan has been made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to people living with long-term health conditions and older adults, in the King’s Birthday Honours List 2024.

SHAME!! Even in times of fiscal restraint there are services that must be protected. Wheelchairs are not luxury items and prescription, provision, and service of wheelchairs are necessities. People are already waiting too long - often in pain, and to the detriment of their health, independence, dignity, and wellbeing. Where is the line in the sand on what services and budgets we will tolerate being slashed??
Wheelchair services slashed as ministry juggles costs
Disabled people could face longer wait times for wheelchairs as the disability ministry battles increasing cost pressures.
