Our Cook Islands Touch community are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our dear friend, Pat Spellman.

Pat gave so much to our Touch community over many years, and his support, friendship and contribution to Pacific Cup Touch and our Cook Islands Touch family will never be forgotten.

We send all our aroha and deepest condolences to Pat’s whānau, friends and everyone feeling this immense loss.

It is with immense sadness that we acknowledge the sudden passing of Pat Spellman. A treasured and much-loved member of the Touch community, who dedicated years towards the growth and success of Pacific Cup Touch, Māori Touch NZ and Touch New Zealand

A trusted friend and mentor, and a tireless advocate for the touch community – his mahi will leave an everlasting legacy in Aotearoa and across the Pacific. An irreplaceable figure who will be dearly missed.

With an Orange Heavy Rain Warning in place for Auckland and heavy rain expected through to early Sunday morning, we have made the decision to cancel Muster #2 at Gallaher Park tomorrow.

Our priority is keeping everyone safe, particularly those who would be travelling to attend, and keeping our tamariki out of the rain.

The Cook Islands Touch Association (CITA) is inviting Expressions of Interest from players of Cook Islands descent to represent our teams at Pacific Cup Touch 2026.

Our goal for 2026 is to continue growing Cook Islands Touch and create opportunities for as many Kukis as possible to represent our nation across all available grades.

Grades include:
• U10 – U18
• Opens Men, Women & Mixed
• Masters

We are also looking for Coaches and Managers, especially those willing to support our junior grades on Saturday.

Our players have now all made their way home after a memorable campaign at the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐮𝐩.

To our supporters, near and far, thank you for backing our team every step of the way. Your messages of support, meant a lot.

This journey was about more than just results, it was about connection, culture, and representing our people with pride.
