Could endo drugs help lipedema? I went down the rabbit hole so you don’t have to.

If “lipedema fat is like endo scar tissue” - can they make a drug that not only dissolves endo scars, but melt lipedema tissue too?

Here’s what the NEW research actually says:
Both conditions build the same thing: fibrotic, immune-active tissue with leaky vessels and a lot of M2 macrophages.

The big endo drugs right now are linzagolix / YSELTY, elagolix, relugolix that turn down estrogen but they don’t dissolve old scar tissue. The scar-dissolving drugs are relaxin-2, pirfenidone only researched in animal studies.

Then there’s Lipedema gene AKR1C1 — your internal off-switch for progesterone inside lipedema fat. In some lipedema families that switch works at 50%. So active progesterone hangs around longer and tells the fat to grow and LOCK.
Again theres no simply ‘fix’ because Lipedema is a tissue-level hormone + immune + fibrosis problem.

What you see: fit girl with lipedema in a cute matching set
What you DON’T:
• skin that doesn’t snap back after 52kg weight loss
• loose skin I tuck into high-waisted leggings every single day
• legs that still hurt, bruise and swell sometimes
• insecurities that didn’t disappear with the weight

Because weight loss didn’t fix my lipedema however it freed me from daily pain and limited movement.

And yes, I still have lipedema.. even at 52kg down.

If you’ve ever been told “you look too good to have lipedema” - this is for you 👇

The most coaching enquiries I get say “I need to lose weight with lipedema”.

And I get it. I really do. Because this was me.
Stuck in an endless loop of shame, guilt, and then binge eating because I was desperate to feel worthy and smaller. Thinking if I could only get smaller, then I would finally feel okay again.

Chasing weight loss with lipedema kept me stuck for years and heres what I had to learn:
Weight loss is not the cake. It is the icing AFTER the cake is made.
You are trying to ice a cake that hasn’t been baked yet.
The normal scale is a terrible tool for lipedema. It cannot measure pain. It cannot measure heaviness, throbbing, bruising, nodular tissue, inflammation, or how your legs feel at 3pm. It cannot measure strength or how at home you feel in your body.

So when you use it as your only measure of success, you will always feel like you are failing. You are not failing. Your metric is.

So if you are done chasing ‘ the icing’ and want to learn how to bake the cake first, DM me CAKE and I will send you how I work beyond weight loss.

I am excellent at what I do? Yes I am. Coaching Lipedema is VERY challenging and it means taking a different approach each time to get the best success possible client result.

This was months of more food, not less.

I am not a weight loss coach - the goal for this client was body composition and big mindset changes to manage lipedema.

No keto. No fasting. No low carb.

We intentionally came off GLP-1 medication with her prescribing team to make these changes I needed more food and bigger capacity for training.

What changed: C-curve reduced, arms leaner, inflammation bucket down, posture stacked.

My own neuro-immune metabolic model in action and some amazing hardwork by my client.

Calling all my post-surgery lipedema girls 👀

If you had lipedema surgery and now:
• swelling / pain is creeping back
• you’re exhausted again
• clothes are getting tighter
• you feel puffy, inflamed, and not like yourself

I need you to hear this - surgery was step 1. Learning how to actually support your body after is step 2 and no one taught you that part.

That’s literally my whole job as I teach women with lipedema the HOW after surgery.

Comment LIPEDEMA for coaching info and I’ll DM you.

You can take the GLP1s.

You can have the surgery.

You can do all of the things.

But if your mindset is still stuck in that negative self-talk, self-hatred loop then a smaller body and weight loss, is not going to make you happy or increase you well-being.

And it will not help your lipedema long-term.

This is honestly the biggest struggle I see as a coach because lipedema management requires consistency. You cannot hate yourself into doing the consistently for the next 10, 20, 30 years.

From my experience yes - you can get a smaller body and still be at war with it and a body at war is a stressed body. With higher cortisol, more inflammation, more swelling, more pain, more burnout.. the ‘loop’ that make your Lipedema worse.

Tools like GLP1s and surgery are great but they don’t fix the voice in your head that says you’re not good enough until your legs or entire body is smaller.

That part is mindset work and that is the real work.

I am not asking you to love how lipedema looks. I am asking you to start speaking to yourself with respect.

Would you talk to your daughter, sister or best friend the way you talk to yourself about your legs?

Save this as a reminder 💜

POV: You’re hypermobile in the gym

Walk into the same machine every day - poor proprioception. Your brain literally doesn’t know where your body is in space because your ligaments aren’t giving good feedback.

Headphones hurt - sensory sensitivity + TMJ issues are so common with hypermobility. It’s not just in your head, your nervous system is just turned up to 100.

Need to sit down constantly - our muscles have to do the job of ligaments. We’re working 2x as hard just to hold ourselves together, plus dysautonomia / POTS fatigue.

Lean on everything between sets - it’s called joint stacking. We are looking for external stability because we have no internal stability.

Not walking into a door frame on the way out = elite athletic performance 🤣

If you have lipedema you probably also have hypermobility. This is why traditional gym advice never worked for you. You don’t need to toughen up, you need more stability, more rest, and more understanding.

Which one are you guilty of? I’m the leaner 🙈

Does weight gain drive lipedema growth?

It doesn’t cause it but in my own body after gaining 20kg fast in a year. This EXPLODED my lower body in a way puberty and pregnancy never did.
And I see it over and over in clients.
Here’s why: rapid gain isn’t just hormones it’s inflammatory overload + lymphatic overload + more local estrogen production inside the fat itself + stem cell activation.

Research now shows Lipedema progression is linked to abdominal fat gain (WHtR), not just age or hormones.
We know Lipedema fat is resistant to loss, but not resistant to gain and thats why crash dieting after keeps you stuck.
If this is you, then you have to stabilise first. So support stroma, lymph, inflammation, and metabolic health.

That’s how we connect the dots properly.
Have you noticed this pattern too — rapid gain = flare, but hormones alone didn’t? Let’s talk below ⬇️
