AUCKLAND MASTERS FOURS RESULTS!!!!!

Last sunday Auckland hosted our centre Masters Fours for 2026

The winners were the team of Bryan Pulley, Bruce Magee, Marilyn Baskiville, Brenda Brownhill playing out of the Manurewa Cosmopolitan Club. In second place was Ray Wyatt, Kevin Childs, Murray Micklejohn, Lynnette Cotes and making up the podium was the team of Jim Patterson, Garjeet Rai, Harjeet Chatha, Neville Collins

We also believe this is Bryan’s first title in an Auckland centre event since making his way up to the big smoke a couple of years ago from Poverty Bay. So massive congratulations to him!

Well done to Bryan’s team who will go to the Zone Final in early July in their attempt to qualify for the National Final on Super Weekend later in the year. We know you will do great!!

NIKITA WINS AUCKLAND CHAMP SINGLES!!!

On Saturday Auckland held our championship singles for 2026 at Western Hall, New Lynn.

In the semi finals Nikita Blair played Carol Wright and Nathan Trowell played Matthew Farquhar.

From here Nikita and Nathan progressed into the final.

In the final Nikita got out to a lead ahead of Nathan and was able to maintain the lead throughout resulting in the final not needing to go all 12 ends. With this victory she will represent Auckland in the zone final in early July.
Nikita subsequently gained the trophy aswell for lady going the furtherest while her semi final opponent Carol gained the trophy for senior going the furtherest.

Again congratulations to Nikita and we know you will do great at the Zone Finals

GREATER AUCKLAND WEEKEND RESULTS!!

Last weekend Auckland hosted the Ken Gash Memorial Pairs and Greater Auckland Fours

On the Saturday in the Ken Gash Memorial Pairs we had a good turn out of 35 teams with only 13 qualifiers. The Semi Finals were

Matthew Tosh and Georgia Fisher vs Anthony Ouellet and Niall Vincer and the other semi consisted of Matthew Foster and Kevin Childs vs Susan Heineke and Faye Emery.

Progressing into the final was the Tosh and Foster with Foster getting out to a lead during the match and was able to maintain a lead throughout in order to take Ken Gash Memorial Pairs title for 2026!!

On Sunday in the Fours the teams remaining in the Semi Finals were the teams skipped by Maurice Eccles, Shaun Blackburn, Matthew Farquhar and Simon Ayris

In the final the team of Maurice Eccles, Shane Pattchet, Sue Sheary and Sandra Curd was able to defeat the youthful team of Shaun Blackbourn, Matthew Foster, Kayla Trowell and Holly Smith to take victory for 2026!!

Well done to all Winners and Place getters. We look forward to seeing you all next year!!!

CHAMP SINGLES AND MASTERS FOURS THIS WEEKEND

This weekend Auckland will be hosting our Championship Singles and Master Fours at Western Hall, Portage Road

The singles will be starting at 930am Saturday
Masters Fours will be starting at 10am Sunday

Winners of either events will progress to the zone final on the first weekend of July with exact times TBC

Entries to be sent in by 12pm Friday 22nd May

NATHAN AND PAUL TAKE ON AUSTRALIA!

Auckland wishes the NZ Mat Blacks and our very own Nathan Trowell and Paul Wright the best of luck for in their attempt to Trans Tasman test match against Australia which is starting tomorrow in Port Sorell, Tasmania.

This is a Biannual fixture two which both countries have competed in a previous 25 times.

This event will be running Thursday through to Saturday with the opening ceremony starting 11am NZST Thursday morning.

Nathan will be skipping the Men’s pairs with Alex Reed (Waikato).

Paul will be playing two in the Men’s Triples with Daniel French (Otago) and Gary Low (Southland).

They will also be playing together with Daniel and Gary in the Men’s Fours.

Go hard guys and go get those medals.

AUCKLAND MIXED FOURS RESULTS

On Sunday Auckland held our Mixed Fours for 2026 at Western Hall, Portage Road, New Lynn.

After the round robin there were 4 qualifing teams with teams skipped by Matthew Foster, Nathan Trowell, Matthew Farquhar and Josh Smith.

The final was contested between Matthew Foster and Nathan Trowell where Foster was able to defeat his cousin to take his team of Simon Poppleton, Georgia Fisher and Kayla Trowell to victory!

This is Matthew and Kayla’s first of soon to be many Auckland titles!

Also congratulations to Georgia for winning her 10th Auckland title in the process!

These guys will represent Auckland later in the year at the zone final for a chance to qualify for the NZ Final.
