AUCKLAND VICTORIOUS IN DEFENDING THE ZONE ONE TOP 8 QUAD!!!

On the weekend the Auckland team, headed up to Northland to play in the Zone One Top 8 Quad, against Northland, North Harbour and Thames Valley.

Auckland got off to a great start on Saturday winning both Fours, all 8 Singles and 7 Pairs games! Auckland was able to follow on from their morning, throughout the other sessions and keep the trophy in the Auckland Centre for another year! Thank you to all the other Centres, as always all games were played in great spirits!

Well done and congratulations to our team! Extra well done to Nathan Trowell and Paul Psaila for finishing unbeaten on 7.5 wins out of 8!

AUCKLAND’S SINGLE ENTRY TRIPLES!!!

On Saturday Auckland held their annual single entry Triples for the season. With 12 teams drawn on the day, it was really anyone’s game!

The semi finals were between Carol Wrights team VS Bob Helleurs team and Anthony Ouellets team VS Niall Vincers team. Both semi finals were great games, with Helleur and Ouellet proceeding to the final. The final started off close with Ouellet catching a lead that he was able to maintain for the game.

Congratulations to Anthony Ouellet, Sue Liddell and Jo Peters for their win! This also gives Anthony and Jo their first Auckland title! Congratulations to you two!

MUNNS SHIELD FIXTURE!!

On Sunday the Auckland team headed down to Waikato to play in the Munns Shield against Northland, Counties and Waikato. The standard of bowls throughout the event was very high and it was a great experience into rep bowls for some players.

The event ended up being very close with both Counties and Waikato on 2 centre wins each. Congratulations to Counties on taking home the Munns shield with 116 games to Waikato’s 105.5 games!

Our top scorers was Dan Lowe 6.5 wins out of 9!

Well done everyone for what was a challenging days play with many changes throughout! Auckland is very proud of the team effort!

BANKIER ROSEBOWL TEAM ANNOUCED!!

Auckland is happy to announce the Bankier Rosebowl Team selected to travel down to Te Awamutu to compete on 25th-26th July in our attempt to defend the title we won last year in Waihi Beach

This fixture is played against Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Thames Valley, North Taranaki and King Country

AUCKLAND JUNIOR SINGLES

Last weekend running alongside the zone finals held at Western Hall, Portage Road, New Lynn we held our Auckland Junior Singles Championship for 2026.

In the final Amelia Brzozowski faced Jiraiya Hill where Amelia came out victorious and took out the Auckland Junior Singles out for the first time and booked herself a trip to Hamilton to compete in the NZ junior singles later in the year!

Jiraiya Hill coming second also qualified to be able to go down to Hamilton to compete in the same event as Amelia.

Well done you two you guys will do great!

Also well done to all juniors who participated in this event and we hope to see all of you again next year and in other centre events!!

Top 8 Quadrangular Squad Announced!

Auckland is happy to announce the selection of the Top 8 Quad Squad to compete in Northland on July 18-19th.
This team will help to decide the ultimate team to compete in the interprovincial later in the year.

AUCKLAND VICTORIOUS IN LANCASTER TROPHY!!!

Auckland has won the Lancaster trophy this weekend at the Pukekohe Cosmopolitan Club. This is the first time since 2010 we have won this rep fixture which is often regarded as one of the hardest top 16 rep fixtures to win.

Auckland’s road to victory came via Centre wins against Waikato, North Harbour, Counties and Tauranga.

Thames Valley stood in our way with the last game of the tournament requiring us to win the fours against Thames valley in order to draw our match against them to win the Lancaster outright and fortunately we were able to pull through at the end. With Auckland finishing on 4.5 center wins.

5th Counties
6th: North Harbour

The top scorers for the event were Marilyn Baskiville, Nathan Trowell and Carol Wright with 11.5 wins out of 15 matches.
