To all my valued customers,

Firstly sorry if there had been a lack of communication or clarity over the last few days!

It has been decided today that a farrier is not an essential service and therefore we will not be able to work during this lockdown period.

However inconvenient this may be to both horse owners and businesses in the equine industry.
I believe we need to do everything we can to stop the spread of COVID19 so we can get back to normal life.

However if there are any extreme or critical cases that will jeopardise the health and welfare of the animal I will still be able to attend providing you have contacted your vet and they have agreed it is necessary that I attend.
In this situation it is vital that we both follow the ministry guidelines in relation to the COVID19 health regulations.

Feel free to contact me for any advice or concerns you have during this period and will be happy to help!

Thanks for you understanding and keep safe!

DID YOU KNOW...

-for every 1 centimeter of extra toe length- this results in an extra 50 kilograms of force acting on the tendons

-1 degree drop in sole angle where the DDFT inserts into the coffin bone (affected by Palmar Angle) can lead to a 4% increase in the pressure exerted by the DDFT on the Navicular bone

These simple facts highlight how important it is to keep your horses on tight shoeing schedule and receive correct trimming/shoeing to give them a long and successful career.
