Our Women’s teams were both inaction at home again this weekend and the football didn’t disappoint.
Our Social Div 5 team had a well deserved 3-0 win.
While our women’s first team played a defensive masterclass to come away with a very well deserved 1-0 win.
We are super proud of both these teams.

If you have ever wanted to get involved both teams offer an open training policy on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Greenhithe War Memorial Park.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: THE WILDCATS!

Our youngest all-girls team has proved just how far determination, resilience and enthusiasm can take you.
On Saturday, their perseverance paid off with their first win of the year.
Several of the girls are playing football for the first time this season, many have never been part of an all-girls team, and half are new to playing with big goals on a bigger pitch. Yet they've never stopped smiling, supporting each other and improving every week.
Coach Michael Howard said: "They show up, are so supportive of each other and it's all starting to come together. They're hungry for playing."
We couldn't be more delighted that this fantastic group of girls are our latest Team of the Week, winning vouchers for pizza and drinks at The Malt Greenhithe.
Read the full story of why they won on our website: www.greenhithefootball.org
Think your team deserves to be our next Team of the Week? Simply email [email protected] with a team photo and tell us why your team should be recognised.
Congratulations, Wildcats – keep roaring!

THUMBS UP TO KAYLA!

Congratulations to Kayla Carlson from our Women's First Team, the Valkyries, who is the latest recipient of our Thumbs Up Award!

The Valkyries are a fantastic squad both on and off the pitch, and Kayla has been a brilliant example of their giving back to the wider GFC community. Alongside her awesome teammates Cole, Lily, Becca and Ceanne, Kayla has helped get our new Saturday morning kitchen up and running.

Kayla is being recognised for a huge effort behind the counter, helping achieve our best kitchen sales of the season so far, while also being a friendly and welcoming face for members and visiting teams.

Kayla receives a prize pack valued at approximately $90, thanks to the generous support of The Malt Greenhithe, BP 2go Motor Centre, 48 Northcote Rd, Broderick Printing & Design Ltd, Elevate Chiropractic, The Collins Cafe and Bar, and The Red Fort Indian Restaurant & Bar.

Well done, Kayla — thank you for helping make GFC such a great community!

A huge thank you to the team Plumbing Wizards NZ who came to our rescue today!

When the truck delivering our new goals couldn't make it through the main entrance to Wainoni Park, a mountain of heavy boxes had to be unloaded in the playground car park. With no one around to help, the Plumbing Wizards team dropped everything, loaded the boxes into their mobile workshops, and transported them up to our clubrooms.

Our new goals are now safely stored, ready for assembly. Clearly this Greenhithe business works magic on more than just plumbing! Thanks again Plumbing Wizards!

TEAM OF THE WEEK: PHANTOMS
Despite being hit by injuries and absences, the U11 Phantoms earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Albany at the weekend. It was a fantastic end to the first half of the season, in which the team has grown week-on-week — and coach Stu Hartley couldn't be prouder.
"The boys represent the club with true professionalism and the spirit that we are so proud of at GFC," he said.
Thanks to our friends at The Malt Greenhithe, every member of The Phantoms wins a kids' pizza and drink voucher.
You can find out more about The Phantoms - and how your team could win - in the news section of our website www.greenhithefootball.org

Saturday July 4 is a big day at Wainoni Park!

As well as having our regular games, we're excited to be hosting the first NRF Junior Festival of the season, with the U12/13 Girls taking to the pitch from 11am.

With many teams and supporters expected, if you have a game starting from 10am onwards, please allow extra time for parking. If you can, consider parking a little further away and walking in via the pathways from Roland Road, Te Wharau Drive or Greenhithe Road to help ease congestion.

While you're here, please support our local Scout group, who will be running a fundraising sausage sizzle (with bacon butties too!). We'll also have a coffee cart at the fields, along with cold drinks and snacks available from the club kitchen.

See you there!
