Our Matariki waiata ✨ created for you.

The journey of this waiata carries us from darkness into light, through remembrance, towards hope, before bringing us together as one.

We honour those who have passed, acknowledge those gathered in the present, and carry our wawata-our hopes and aspirations-into the year ahead. 🤍

At its heart, this piece is about belonging.
Matariki Herenga Waka is For Everyone.

You do not need to understand every word of te reo Mãori to experience its meaning. The reo carries the whakapapa and the kaupapa. The music, voices and breath, carry the feeling. 😌

This Matariki, we wanted to create something very special. ✨

Working alongside , our very own Group Fitness Instructors .fit and poured their hearts into writing and recording an original waiata. 🎧🤍

As each Matariki class begins in our gyms this year, you'll hear the waiata play first. It is a simple invitation to arrive, breathe, reflect and connect before moving

Ngā mihi to Shannon and Lana for sharing their voices with us. .. stay tuned ✨

Celebrate Matariki with us next week ✨
Matariki is a time for reflection, remembrance and celebrating life by looking back on those who came before us.

This year, it feels especially significant as we remember Leslie Mills, whose vision brought us all together nearly 60 years ago. 🤍

So this Māori New Year, we welcome you to celebrate Te Ao Māori with our special classes. We'll connect over the year that's been, through movement, shared kai and kōrero.

Swipe across to see what's happening at your club. Spots are limited, so head to the app to book in. If you're manuhiri or not a member, you can book for free by contacting reception.

Leslie Roy Mills MBE, CNZM was an incredible man who lived an inspirational life.

The Les Mills brand came to life nearly 60 years ago as a result of Les’ vision, courage and unwavering belief that the power of fitness can change lives. His name will live on as a pillar in the fitness industry worldwide and we will be forever grateful.

At 11am today, our gyms will hold a minute of silence to honor his life and pay our respects.

Our thoughts are with the Mills whānau at this time, and we thank you for being part of the legacy Les began almost six decades ago.

Moe mai rā, e te rangatira. Ka mau tonu tō mana me tō taonga tuku iho.
Rest well, Les Mills. Your influence and legacy endure.
