And Shaun, now with Manly Bowling Club Hibiscus Coast after having played at Takapuna in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, won the men’s title, beating Hobsonville’s Navind Singh in a tense final, 21-20.
Before moving to Manly Shaun enjoyed considerable success in his two seasons with Takapuna, winning our 1-5 year championships, as well an open title in 2022-23 in the triples.
Shaun beat our men’s representative, Tony Wickens, 21-4 at the weekend in the quarter-finals.

They were up against a strong Millie Nathan skipped Birkenhead team in the
semi-final and they had a very convincing win 19-8.
In the final they were up against a very experienced
Manly team.
This was a much closer game with our team just taking the win 16-14.
On the last end they were 3 up on the score board, but were 3 down on head,
Sheryl had the last bowl of the end, Jan had a close bowl that just needed
to be knocked forward to cut the number down, Sheryl played the shot
perfectly and achieved that, so then they were only one down and therefore won the game by 2 shots.

BNH Champ of Champ Fours - Finals day
Following a convincing victory over Warkworth in their quarter final our gallant Women's Four of Elizabeth Ring, Val Taylor, Jill Green & Vicki Ayson went agonisingly close to securing a coveted finals berth going down oh so narrowly on an extra end after the previous two ends had been killed by the Manly quad when our team were holding multiple shots and the winning of the match on both occassions.
Our ladies showed great resiliance and spirit. After starting slowly and seemingly being just out of reach of getting back into the game they staged an almighty fightback to be right back in the game. To Manly's credit they displayed great courage to hang on and keep battling to the very end, finally overcoming our Four by just two shots.
Outstanding effort by our team and a massive shout out to all our supporters for their encouragement and support.
