A two day trip to the Mokes Islands this week saw everything from Hauraki gulf slender Tuna to Huge Fannal Island grand daddy hapuka, Kingfish on jigs, Trevally on Lures and even a 75cm snapper on a sly baited jig in 100m of water that swam off to live another day. The fishing is fantastic in the Hauraki Gulf right now and getting hotter by the day so get a crew together and give us a call.

Workups are here with consistency. Its early in the Snapper migration so the big numbers aren't here yet. There's plenty of Kahawai though so target the bite times, hang back from the workup's down current away from the green torpedo's and hunt the Snapper with your sounder. Be patient, they are there and they'd love to come home with you on you're filleting bench

Fishing Great Barrier's north east coast While Great Barrier might be one of the ‘great’ places to fish in the Hauraki Gulf, one place that tends to be forgotten is the Barrier’s northeast coast or, as the locals call it - the wild side.

Had an absolutely stomping charter this afternoon. These guys caught over 60 snapper plus gurnard, kahawai and a lovely little kingfish . What a great bunch to have aboard. OX

Had a great time today here at FQ fishing. I took some friends out for a warm up leading into our corporate charters season. We caught Snapper and kingfish galore and all on lures. Wicked fun was had by all
