Waitakere Bears Softball Premier Women

An OtaBears classic decided in extra innings.

While we didn't come away with the title, we still got to witness some Bears history with Bex becoming the first player EVER to reach 300 NFS Games! We are so proud of you and your efforts Bex and are lucky to have you leading the way on and off the diamond.

To Otahuhu Softball Club, congratulations on the title. Like Kyla said, we look forward to plenty more epics in the years to come.

🏆 NFS FINALS 🏆

It's been a rollercoaster of a season but it's all led up to this.

Up first are our Cubs against Northern Bandits Diamond Sports in the NFS Reserve Women's Championship at 1:30pm. Get out and support the team as they look to defend their title and finish the season on the ultimate high.

After that, our top side takes on old foes Otahuhu Softball Club in the NFS Premier Women's Championship at 3:30pm. Both sides boast plenty of talent and have taken games off each other this season so we're certain to see another classic on Saturday.

Both matches are being played at Sturges Park so make an afternoon of it and enjoy some top class softball to finish the season!

Congratulations to Ocearn Mathews, Tania Dalton Foundation Class of 2022 scholarship recipient.

The Tania Dalton Foundation, created in honour of the sporting legend whose presence would fill the room, has been established to make a meaningful impact on the lives of budding young New Zealanders, guiding them to lead their biggest life - as Tania did.

Following on from the success in 2021, the Foundation has selected 12 new participants for the Scholarship Programme, providing support to young women from all kinds of circumstances and at different stages of their development, to unlock their talent and enable them to live their biggest life with sport as their guide.

Ocearn Mathews, a member of Waitākere Bears Softball Club, Auckland representative and Junior White Sox squad member, joins 11 other deserving recipients on their journey to unleash
